Who has a Cam?

Im looking into getting a cam for the 1LE. I dont really know anything about them.
To be honest i like the power they add and the sound you get. Being a 1LE i do want to track it as much as i can.
What are your suggestion for some good cams? Would it be better to get a custom cam? Or not one at all?

I would definitely do a custom cam and have Pat G spec it out. Search any LS based forum and he is top dog in 100s of peoples opinions(so don't just take my word for it)

Do it, Im getting a custom grind cam done by DaSilva Motorsports in Kitchener, Canada. Hes built a couple LS3 camaro's for people around here all have made around 460-510whp with his Cam Package and LT Headers.

Im also adding a 100 Shot from a NO 90MM Plate Kit for when drag racing

Custom Grind is usually best, but im also hearing great things about the LG G6X3. Also make sure to add all the supporting mods (Lifters, Push Rods, Springs and Retainers, Katech C5R Timing Chain and either a shimmed/ported oil pump or a melling unit), LT 1 7/8 or 2" Headers are also recommended.

You're fortunate that all of those great tracks in and near the mid-Atlantic have no meaningful sound restrictions. Further north, it's become a real issue, and hopefully you never run into that down there. Crank it up!

I have a cam designed for track purpose. Added 55 hp, and loads of torque. I live near you, and if your interested, we could meet at a Cars and coffee event, so you could hear mine. Typically Sundays at Fair lakes Kohls parking lot in N. Va. Btw, Broadview Auto service did the install, tune, and 3 dyno runs. 445 rwhp. it sounds sweet with the npp exhaust, and no headers. I see you made the local Camaro calendar as did I....congrats!

I second that. I went with a Pat G cam for my SS. The guy knows his stuff.

Another option- Synergy Motorsports designed me a custom cam specifically for the road course. 478 RWHP, 445 RW Ft-Lbs on the dyno with just the cam, longtube headers, high flow cats and a CAI. And of course all of the supporting goodies in the heads - springs, keepers, Etc.

I track my car quite often, this cam woke this beast up like you wouldn't believe. Highly recommended. Here's the link to my build:

A typical base cam setup like yours, with 445rwhp, what in your opinion would be your average 1/4 mile times and trap speed?

Last question:Unlike FI at cruse, did this mod hurt your fuel economy while cruising steady speed?

Huh?

Good parts
Good Install
Good tuner

Reliability will never be an issue.

What is the average cost of a cam installed with rods and lifters, tune and dyno?
