Cams and everything that goes with it to do a solid upgrade. Suspension/chassis are on the menu as well.

I'm hoping for ~4k back. Of course, I already have a ton of debt to pay off, but I'm sure I can sneak something in for the camaro somewhere... I'm planning on using a chunk of it to install the Rideskinz Aggressor bumper that's sitting in my basement, and maybe I can sneak a chunk off for new sways...?

Exactly. However I know some people that have zero ability to budget or save throughout the year so it's the only way they can save any $ at all. In those cases I guess it's better than nothing.

I try to maximize my paycheck, the past 5 years I have owed nothing or gotten under $100 back.

This year though, I got married, plus installed solar on my house, looks like my tax liability changed as my preliminary paperwork shows I will be getting a good $12k back; mostly as a result of the solar credit. Which is cool because that pretty much pays me back for the solar install. Not free money, just replaced money for what was already spent..

I've since adjusted my withholding and even though I haven't received a raise in 2 years, the adjustment nets me another couple hundred per week because of the life event changes.

I hate letting uncle sam hold my money interest free, especially considering the hefty interest and fines he gives if you get caught behind the 8 ball.

Though with the financial cliff hanging out there, I will definitely be watching it close, because I don't want to get caught owing because I claimed too much.
