confusing parking sign

there is s sign where i need to park late nights next week that says

2-hour parking
Only
8am-6pm
exc SUN and HOL

does that mean that you can park there as long as you want after 6pm or does it mean no parking after 6pm?

it is a busy road with all sorts of businesses from retail to bars
no other signs around

yes, it means you can only park there for two hours between 8 and 6. after 6pm, it's fair game. you can park there from 6:01pm - 7:59am straight. except of sundays and holidays. then you can park there any time, for however long.

2 hour parking 8am to 6pm. Park as long as you want any other time or any time on Sundays and Holidays

You can only park here for 2 hours max and this rule is in effect from 8 am - 6pm with the exception of Sundays and holidays.

Basically during business hours you can park there for only 2 hours. After hours its open.

These guys are correct. Now if you really want to have a valid answer you can always take a picture of the sign, then find a meter person and ask them. They have to know since they write the tickets for the signs.
