Super easy... get the invisicord and just tuck the wire inside the headliner and down the drivers A-pillar to the fuse box. Then you can put the mute button on the dash right next to the A-pillar. I should be installing mine for the 3rd time next week and can provide pics if anyone needs.

The visor mount is the only way to go...

Yes please do! I haven't routed wire in a car before so that would be a big help!

I have the same mount as shown above thats with the visor. Then ran the cord under headliner, down a piller and in fuse box and then remote next to apiller.

That's similar to what I'd like to do. However, the product I'm planning on getting has the button and light on separate chords and they're much smaller so you can put them in more discrete places: http://www.safe-n-sound1.com/Escort%...at%20Mute.html

I wish i had seen this thread before i hardwired mine in. I have it in the same place that you had your V1.
No issues. I bought and have installed the mute button that Escort sells directly and it works well.. I have it(The mute button box) Velcro to the side of my 4-pack gauges facing upward so that the alert light reflects off the bottom of the head unit and is not distracting while driving.

let me know if you want pics. Enjoy the 9500!
Will

I'll second that. I like it and the mounting location. I also used the mirror tap cord.

I am still concerned about theft, so I take it down and with me.

Yep. Had to do a little searching for it, but got it from a private seller on Amazon.
