The aero that needs to be done is readily available from stock parts mimic the ZL1 and find a way to get a vent or two to get out under hood pressure and the floating affect will be dissipated. ACS is available too.
As for t op speed I think the cars are drag limited at 180 or so with stock SS power. The last 10 or 15 will come slowly. I've read that 5th is of some use. If you want to go faster the only thing stopping you is HP and that can be bought. I personally feel that a few aero mods and 500 or so to the wheels is just about perfect. Make sure to upgrade your brakes and suspension too. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

popular mechanics or popular science did a test with the mustang cobra and a ss camaro. they went to Bonneville and only did a tune to the camaro, she hit a drag limit of 186 i believe. the mustang ran out of gear some where in the 190's

So the Camaro was drag limited and the Mustang was gear limited? Do you have a link to the article? I'd be interested in reading it.

That article was interesting. It's a shame they weren't similar cars either an SS and A GT or a ZL1 and the GT500.
174.5... essentially stock. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

OP, there are several members of this forum that run the Texas Mile; I would check out some of their threads for more info; also google the Texas Mile, Ohio Mile run by ECTA, and of course there is Bonneville, if you're interested in learning more about top speeds, aero limitations, etc...

4th gear in my 1LE tops out around 140mph 5th gear will take you to the 155 limiter and to 189mph if the limiter is tuned out and you have enough power (not stock) 6th is overdrive and would theoretically hit 280mph. Max speed in each gear: Camaro SS: 1st: 54 mph 2nd: 79 mph 3rd: 114 mph 4th: 163 mph 5th: 194 mph 6th: 287 mph Camaro 1LE: 1st: 53 mph 2nd: 79 mph 3rd: 108mph 4th: 140 mph 5th: 189 mph 6th: 280 mph

You're sharing apocryphal data without actual knowledge on the matter. The LS3 cars achieve top speed in 5th gear.
