Some unanswered questions...

Anyone worried about the interior (the orange) fading over time in the sunlight? I want to go with 15% tinting. Will that protect the interior or do I need to go darker?

I'd like the bowties and the SS painted inferno orange. Will the dealership have paint I can buy to do this or would a detail company be able to get some through GM? How much would it cost to get the two bowties and the SS painted orange? I know nothing about this kind of stuff. Thanks!

I would bet that the people doing grafx would be able to make them as stickers in teh right colors and you could apply them. as far as the interior, personally I am not worried at all.

Would a leather protectant/cleaner help too?

I have some sort of protective coating on my interior of my G6 from the dealership, PermaShield maybe, I forget the name of it right now but it is supposed to protect against fading and stains and is guaranteed. If any stain can't be removed from seat, dash, door panels whatever, the piece is recovered or replaced. Now I'm sure it's only for 5 years or something, which it usually takes longer for the sun to fade interior I'd think.

Reds, oranges and yellows are notorious for fading and I know paint companies are doing thins to prevent this sort of thing with paint and clear-coat, maybe they took precautions with fabric/leather as well?

Having the car in a garage when at home and using a leather protectant monthly will help considerably.

In my old cars the plastic pieces seem to fade before the seats. If you plan on keeping it for a very long time don't let it set out. If you do let it set out tint will help along with treatment.

We've never had two cars so since this will be considered "my car" I'm going to be driving it as much as I can. If 15% tinting and treatment of the leather will do it, that will work for me. Thanks for the advice all!

I've got to show it off!

I'll have mine died if they fade. I'm having the dash and door panels done in the same leather so I'll definately be on top of it.

So is this how everyone has changed their bowties by applying stickers or have people painted them? Just curious.

The tint will definitely help improve the life of the interior if it's quality tint, since it will block the majority of UV rays. Also you should consider a sunscreen for the windshield when it is parked outside.
