The new SS interior does seem to be a major improvement without a lot of bubble gum attached. I have to disagree on the Camaro having better looks. The Mustang lines are great especially in person. I want to see the SS in person too.

Looks are very subjective... So i dont think you should take the opinion of people on that... What may interest you may not interest others and vice versa...

As far as manual transmissions, the Camaro uses the T6060 and the Mustang uses the MT82.
The MT82 is made by Getrag. T6060 is made by Tremec. For me, I love the feel of the T6060 and there is a very valid reason why its used in a lot of higher power cars with few basic changes. Do a little research and its clear which is often called the better one. |

I liked the way the GT transmission felt. Both cars shifted very smoothly and the gears were quiet. My '06 GT uses a Tremec TR3650 which is very notchy and a bit noisy in comparison. I know the TR6060 is a great transmission with triple syncronizers.
What did Chevy do other than making the car a little smaller to drop so much weight? |

To improve visibility they lowered the dash so visibility over the hood is better, it has blind spot alert, and in reverse the mirrors aim down, there's the backup camera and backup sensors. About the ride being stiffer than the Mustang, that might not necessarily be true, especially if you get the magnetic suspension. GM did a pretty good job with the interior and infotainment. Apple car play and Android auto, wireless charging, 4G LTE hotspot, driver mode customization (exhaust, steering, suspension), available sunroof, to name a few over the Mustang. |

Alpha platform lighter and almost 30% stiffer.

The Camaro is a better performer but the mustang is much easier to buy.

http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=426517 What are you looking for in a car? The SS is going to be probably very different feeling then the GT. And on top of it the SS in the mags is just killing the Mustang GT in reviews. Sure the SS is a tad more but you are getting more for it. Now if you can wait 5-6 months, you should see what the '17 Mustang is going to be bringing to the table. If they bring the 10 speed (if that matters if you are an auto guy), lighter weight, updated front/rear and some other upgrades you will have a hard choice. |

MT82 is a Getrag design, *but* it's built in China. It had TONS of teething issues in the first 2 model years. -Former '12 5.0 GT Premium owner.

Motor Trend said it BEST Mustang GT= Grand Tourer Camaro SS = Super Sport Mustang is a great cruising car... But it seems if you push it past 7/10ths driving it was found lacking ( in comparison)
