it dosent hurt at all to have the blower cam installed first, enjoy the power increase and then step up to the blower...to do it right, cam, fuel, clutch, rear and blower is a pretty big chunk of change, Im trying to do it right but in stages.

IMHO, its truly the smartest thing to do. I said I was going to do a full N/A build but after talking to several members, they all said if there was any possibility of FI or even on the fence go with a blower friendly cam. The twofold part is that they make some wicked sounding blower cams these days! 10 years ago I never would have thought a blower cam could chop harder than some NA cams and be very efficent at the same time.

Thumbs up

I have been throwing around the supercharger question also. My concern is if my 10" will hold up to the significant horsepower increase without breaking stuff down the road. Or once I supercharger I need to beef up all other components.

the stock will hold one or the other just fine. the problems arise when you do both, then put D/R or slicks on it. if you leave street tires your good!!

I talked toJRE and they said that with the 470 cam if I want the maggie I need the ZR1 fuel pump...Recommened is a new clutch, rear, possible axles...etc. It was explained as, its all in what you will be doing with it. Track even occasionally, the extras a must! Full street car...not so much. I dont have time for the track so Im gonna get the fuel upgrade and clutch and work on the rear and suspension as the cash somes avalable. I dont plan on beating the crap out of it either.

I say do both, you are limited with only heads and cam. Your max hp range with a great tune is 475 to 520 rwhp. A basic blower set up with 5.5 lbs boost will give you 520-540 rwhp depending on exhaust. add a blower cam and pulley and the gains are enormous! Look at my sig and thats on stock heads.

Mine is also gonna be a street car. There isn't a track within a 150 miles of me.

I have a question about Super Chargers....i was told this past weekend by a mechanic here in VA that since we have to pass emmissions tests here that i would fail if i installed a SC with Cam. Is that true....because im close to pulling the trigger on the LPE 650 forged package?!

Supercharger alone is expensive first cost but gives you a wicked torquey sleeper car. No cam will do that. That might be enough for you right there. Keep in mind it wont sound like a race car but that might be your preference. You can always do more upgrades later if the base package is not enough.
