Car was damaged, what do I do?
My car was damaged while parked in a garage I rent for the winter. It seems an animal fell thru the roof and onto my cars hood, and the clear coat on my hood is cracked. There are very faint footprints on my car, I'm not sure what to do, PLEASE HELP!!!

Take the car to a body shop? If the clear is cracked you're going to have to get the hood repainted completely. If you have stripes you'll need them torn off too and replaced...

What does your rental agreement say? Plus can you prove it happened in the garage?

It would be rare to have a situation in which the landlord, not the renter, is responsible, whether for a car, the contents of an apartment, or whatever.
The renter is generally responsible for their own stuff and insuring their own stuff. This should fall under the comprehensive part of your car insurance.

I'd like to see pics of this place where you stored your car. Where an animal can fall through the roof. Was it like this:

This, also keep in mind that once you make a claim, it goes on your record, potentially increasing the likelihood of having a higher premium the next time your renewal comes around....unless of course insurance laws differ in the States..

they greatly differ in the USA, and differ from State to State. here in CA your rates cannot be raised for something that is not an "at fault" incident. meaning, someone hits a parked car, an animal runs in front of your car, someone vandalizes your car, or someone else hits you and the police/insurance investigator determine you were not at fault (someone runs a red light or makes an illegal turn, whatever), or like the OP some animal falls on your car in a secure (or even an unsecured) parking garage. but they can raise them for things like you backing into your garage door, or you side swiping a parked car.. -- some states have a "no fault" or "all fault" law, meaning that regardless of what happened each party is responsible for their own vehicles through their own insurance, and yes that sucks because even if someone else did the damage and you were not even within 1,000 miles of the car, you take the fault and your rates get jacked. -- all depends on where you live and who is greasing the palms of your local politicians.
