another thing, i am just amazed at how Little it takes to put a dent in these cars. i myself put a ding in my camaro 2 weeks ago in the garage from my suv, it barely hit and boom , a ding. fortunattly, last weekend i had the ding removed for $81 at Dr Dent. but, it just dont take much anymore to damage these cars, even going just 5 or 8 mph. i remember the 70s that had cars with big bumpers that could take an impact at 5 mph. todays car just crumble up like paper.

This forum is going downhill, if a person asks advice for something, people feel the need to be jerks. OP I feel your pain and I hope you are able to get it fixed in a reasonable amount of time.

OP.. From just looking at the pictures at a PARKED BOBCAT and your car in an almost empty parking lot leads me to believe you were fooling around fishtailing etc or going way too fast.. It looks like you have a 2014 SS there and haven't really quite respected the power yet and the light ass end f the Camaro.. I have to say i screwed around a lot in my ss when i got it but had a lot of exp in other fast cars in my time. Even someone with exp can lose it too.... Luckilly I have had a ton of near misses.
Sorry to hear .. Hope things work out.. Fooling around or not it still sucks.. Hopefully this is a lesson |

Just curious what part of that you think I found helpful? Again. I don't remember asking what anyone thought I was doing. You know what they say when you make ASSumptions. I was not "fooling around". I was 20 feet from my parking spot and starting my shift at work. I had a 2011 camaro before this and I can tell you I more than respect its power. I bring my car to the track a couple times a year and other than that it is my daily driver, and for that reason, I do not "screw around" in it. Hopefully your screwing around never results in anything like my situation because I can tell you it's no fun. I've never had an accident or a near miss, so I don't think I need lessons from you. You telling me this is a lesson is like me telling you getting the flu is a lesson. I hit ice in a bad spot, and slid into something right in front of me. It could have happened to anyone. Plus, if I was drifting or fishtailing, don't you think i would have different damage on the car and not have had a head on? Lets use our heads. PLEASE. I stated my story. You guys can choose to believe it or not. That's your call. But I'm not interested in what story you decide to create in your own heads. If you wish to help, help. I'll appreciate it. If not, go away. I'll never understand why some people feel the need to try and aggravate someone that's already dealing with enough. I think I've gotten about all the help I'm gonna get, and to those who have offered help relating to my question, thank you. Other than that, I think I'm just about done with this thread and would appreciate if a MOD can LOCK IT. Thank you

I would talk to the insurance company to see how long the at fault claim would affect your insurance. Then decide if you can fix it out of pocket or claim it.

Again, that Bobcat didn't jump out and hit you. Be honest with yourself and you'll probably know exactly how it happened. Sorry it happened, but there is nobody to blame but yourself. Quote:
But this was in a private parking lot. Different rules.

Hi OP,
Just a little something to think about. Some of the angry unhelpful post may be people who run or own equipment. Reverse the rolls and think how they fell if this has or would happen to them. Leave piece of equipment parked as best you can they are large and awkward shape they don't fit in normal spots. You show up next morning to work and someones blaming you because they hit your equipment that was parked out back out of the way. As bad as you feel imagine you were not there and are being blamed for it. Just some prospective the people that are being mean may have been through this on the opposite side and are voicing there opinions. Another way looking at it and I'm sure you would be steaming say you park out back and because of the snow in the parking spots you have to leave the back your car a bit in the driving lanes because of the snow banks and the bobcat hits you while clearing the snow you wouldn't thing it was your fault because you were not fully into the spot. its his job not to hit you while he is clearing the snow from the lot. |
