nice but 500 is a little steep for a CAI.

Are you serious? You see nothing wrong with a cai at a cost of 5 bills? I'm sorry, but that is ridiculous.

I love the idea of grabbing cold air from the front, but I worry that the heat from the radiator will rise up and wind up supplying part of the air to that CAI.

And $500 is a bit steep. I would say $300 would be a fair price.

Does this set up utilize the "mail slot" on the hood for a "forced air" type of flow?

More pictures would be nice on how it gets it air flow? What air is it accessing? Outside air, engine bay air,...?
