The cup holders aren't in the way, its the cups that they put in them. However if you stick with 12 ounce cans, it isn't an issue.

I don't really understand the fuss about the cup holders. I carry my coffee thermos (a Camaro one I bought at the ChevyMall) every day to work and can still shift without it bothering me. But I guess different people sit at different angles.

How can the cup holders be "in the way"? They're holes and they are below the level of the shifter. I think it is the arm rest on the console that is "in the way" for manual shifting folks.

Put some cups in the cup holders, then think about it.

front holder is useless (accept to hold small items) with the stick but the rear is better then having none. this thread is from 2010

I've never had a problem the few times I've had drinks in them. I feel there are a ton of ergonomic problems with the interior but the cupholders are at the bottom of my list. Besides, I'm not sure where else they could have put them.

You people are funny. Unless you're driving around with a 44 oz big gulp all day the cup holders shouldn't be any issue. As noted, they're great for cans, and make a nice cell phone cradle too. That generic plastic cover posted doesn't look like any upgrade to me.

switch panel is a good idea though. How do you use the clutch holding a drink between you legs and why would you.

Why would anyone get angry, everyone has their own individual likes and dislikes about Camaro features. I like the look, great idea!

I don't understand how people can drive with anything bigger than a 12 oz can there. My wife always wants to put a travel coffee mug or bottled water there and it drives me crazy. My arm hits it every time I shift. I guess people have different driving positions, but I can't imagine how you could shift without hitting your arm. Maybe it just doesn't bother some people. For me is is uncomfortable, plus I'm always worried I'm going to knock over the drink and make a mess.
