Installing a mirror tap on 2013 Camaro, which wires?

I am trying to install a mirror tap that goes with my new blend-mount for my Escort Radar Detector. I've read thru some very helpfull instructions on here, but it looks as though the wiring harness has changed with the new mirror in the 2013. has anyone done this yet?

I've tried to test the wires with a multimeter, but I cannot find the switched power supply for some reason.

the red wire used for power and the black or the green used for ground give me the 12 vDC, but it is a constant 12v (does not shut off when car is off).

Can not seem to find the combination that is a switched power source.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

update, I've found a switched 12v wire (orange) and I thought that i'd found the correct ground wire (white), but when I hooked this up to the RD, it did not come on. I could not be turned on. So, i wiggled the wires a bit...and I've called OnStar 2x now...

At least now, I am smart enough to grab a cold beverage...

Any problem getting the blend-mount to fit on the 2013 mirrors? I have a 2013 ZL1 Vert on the way and was going to purchase my Passport 9500ix and blend-mount ahead of time; but then I heard that they changed the mirror design for 2013. Just want to make sure that it fits properly before I shell out $500.

Why not just run your own switched 12v? Its not that involved.

I guess, I just wanted it to work like it does when plugged into the cig lighter. I turns on and off with the car. You never need to touch the power button. I like that. Like I said, I could just hook this up to the constant 12v power and use the power switch on the RD, but I'd like it to be hands off/auto setup.

96ss, I have not tried the blendmount on the new mirror stem yet. I will try and dry fit it today and give you some feedback. I contacted the company before i bought, and they assured me it would fit. Looking at the part, I believe it will. they send some small strips of foam tape that can be used to fit it snug on a smaller stem.

It fits perfectly without the padding (used for slightly smaller stems). Looks good too. I would wire directly to the fuse box, as I am unable to get the mirror tap to work.

The mirror tap was returned. There is no 12 volt power (switchable) on the new mirror. you can only use the mirror tap if you want to use the constant 12v source in the mirror. This just means you'll need to manually turn on and off the Radar Detector (what a pain... )

That is not what I wanted. I ended up using the fuse box connection with a fuse tap. I just tucked the wire up over the roof liner and down the driver's side A pillar. I also left the manual mute switch in the space above the fuse panel. This works exactly as I wanted. RD turns on every time I start the car and turns off when I shut the car off.

This is what I would recommend...

Ok For the wire tap you would want the constant power so the radar detector comes on when you start the car and goes off when the car is shut off.

Uh, that would make it a switched 12v source...that does not exist in the new mirror...

Or did the multiple emocons indicate sarcasm???

the mirror cant be on constant power or your battery would go dead... I would bet the red wire is the one you need to use the wire on.. but you can check with Ofer (2SSRS) he is a sponsor on here and would know the answer for sure. the mirror needs power and has to have a power source that can be switched off.
