Question on brakes

Ive got a 15 1le, I took it to a simi track day about 4000 miles ago. I ran the car twice that day, both sessions were only 6-7 minutes each. It was more of an extended auto cross than a full on track. Lots of heavy braking though. Before going I put in Dot 4 brake fluid, not really sure the quality of the fluid, it was all I could get from the dealer as I could not get Motul 600 ordered and in on time. I thought it would be a good time to replace it because the car had a faulty brake booster so it didn't cost me anything to put the new fluid in. Fast forward to today and I have another track day at the end of the month, I am still no confident that I didn't somewhat boil my brake fluid at the last track outing. They are fine for DDing, but when I go play in the hills where I live, they don't feel right. Their is what almost sounds like a crunch like sound when I get on my brakes hard. I just ordered Motul 600 and set an appoint for the day before my track outing to have the car looked at and potentially flush the system and replace the fluid. I am trying to avoid spending $189 on the flush service though.. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Flushing is a must. Really want to get the Dot3 out of the ABS too.

Stainless Brake lines are a big improvement also. Pedal will not fade when temp get higher. The soft rubber lines tend to expand once they get out and pedal will fell mushy.

Flush with Motul 600 and put a decent track pad on. Thats all you need. Flush the brakes yourself. It's easy.

I flushed to motul 600, using a motive power bleeder is the bees knees.

Also, for your next mod in the budget, look into the ducts, I purchased the z28 brake ducts from the GM parts counter, and have yet to have any brake fade. I managed to do 6- full 20 minute sessions in South Louisiana +90 degree heat and the brakes never let me down in the slightest. With OEM pads

OE brake lines are not what they used to be. They are light years better than they used to be. An upgrade to SS lines offers virtually no gain in brake performance. We swap out the 5th Gen brake lines to SS more for an extra layer of protection against a failure than for any improvement in performance.

Motul 600 is popular fluid with good numbers, but we use and prefer SRF. SRF has the highest wet boil of any fluid. That makes it perfect for the occasional track rat. With a wet boil in the 500 degree plus range, SRF wet is better than most fluids dry. It is very expensive, but since it doesn't have to be flushed as often, we feel it offers long term economy.

The best deal on top shelf track pads is HAWK DTC 70 front and DTC 60 rear. Motul 600 and DTC pads will have you out braking most of the drivers on the track

Really appreciate all the input guys. Ive got the Motul 600 on order and the appointment set up to do a full flush on the tech II at the dealership to get the air out of the abs, then Ill get a power bleeder and do it myself from then on, sounds like the logical thing to do to me.

Also, how many bottles of motul 600 for a full flush? I ordered 4 on amazon, should that be enough?

You also might want to try Powerstop Track day pads. They are supposedly engineered specifically for our platform. They're loud as F*%# but easily brake at the limits of your tires. Are easy to modulate and have a great initial bite when they warm up. Really reasonably priced too.

Should be fine. I bought six, had the dealer do the initial flush to ensure it was a complete flush, and they only used three bottles.
