I think it was around 14,000.

What I am shocked is mine was not listed on the cars tag even thought it was ordered in 08 and went into the system in Feb 09. #3419

Something that I found completely odd was that my order (which was placed on 8/19/2009) had the r6p code under all the checked code options... Could I technically have the last r6p built? I'll post a pic of it when I get off work.

I am vin 3439 and I have all of the R6P documentation. Have you asked your dealer about this?

R6P was an early order designation for cars ordered prior to the start of production on March 16th,2009. And it was over 17,000 that were R6P cars as illustrated by the guy in the last post.

It was produced in Sept and the VIN is way up there. They were not produced in a straight run and I do not believe there were 17000 made. The number is 14000 and change last I heard. You can filter for it on spasticsquirrel.

You sir are correct and I was wrong. Yes, it happens.

All reports indicate slightly over 14,000 R6P cars. The VIN has nothing to do with it as some R6P cars waited months for their dealers to get actual allocation to order the car. For those who are unfamiliar with the process, just because your dealer places an order for a car doesn't mean it goes into the production schedule. Based on a few different factors, each month Chevy tells a dealer how many of his orders will be "pulled" for production (gives allocation to the dealer). There are instances where an R6P order wasn't actually built until over 6 months after the initial order.

Look at your build sticker in the trunk under the rug on the drivers side.Look at all the codes & look for r6p.that will tell you if it is or not.
