$1074? Am I getting screwed?
Got quoted by a Chevy body shop as follows today...
$430 for a LT bumper unpainted $140 for paint materials 5 hours of labor at $42/h to paint it $90 for a new absorber (behind bumper) There are some other charges I forgot but it comes out to $1074 to replace my bumper that has limited damage done to the left side. No hidden damage. So I ask you all, is that accurate or not? Thanks. |

sounds right.
This repair was over $600: Actually it was over $1100 but I got a new tire too. Guy in other lane ran over a chunk of metal. It flew up off the road and into my lane when the car had 300 miles. |

Sounds about right.. labor isn't all that bad either. Most around here charge $50-$75 /hr

Alright, just thought it seemed a little high..
For some reason I remember reading about a guy who did an LT to SS bumper conversion for $700. What are some good after marker bumpers to look at? |

Only issue I see with it is if they're going to take 5 hours to paint a bumper, they've got some painting issues, unless it's only prep, prime and paint time... don't let them charge you for the time the painter is watching the paint dry.

I don't see how this is excessive? That's what the system allows. 3.4 for base / 1.4 for clear. Seems about right for me. And that doesn't include time for color tinting and wet sanding either which their estimate does not reflect.
