Question on TR-6060 Transmission
I read on the Camaro wiki page that the T6 is good for a maximum gearbox torque of 430 lb-ft ( 580 Nm )
So right now the stock LS3 MN6 claims 420 lb-ft ... With folks adding intakes and exhausts etc I don't imagine it would be hard to reach the max of 430 lb-ft of torque or over that... Has anyone who has added perfromance upgrades run into issues with their T6 transmissions? Here is that link if some folks here have not seen it..good readabout these cars: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/wiki.p...le=CAMARO+WIKI Thanks, Bob |

My motor puts out about 700 FT-Lbs tq. It dyno'd 611 Tq to the rear wheels. No problems yet

I'm over 800 ft/lbs and nothing other than the synchros causing the second gear grind which were occurring before the build... and then the same thing with 4th gear after the build... but no structural damage so far... though I did just upgrade to the 9310 output shaft with the support bearing and a new input shaft/4th gear, because of the shifting problem...
With a few minor upgrades, the transmission will handle pretty much whatever you throw at it...

The torque rating of a manual transmission is at the transmissions weakest link. So the 430ftlb rating is in 6th gear. 1st gear is capable of handling much more torque than 430ftlbs.

TR6060 transmissions have proven to handle over 800 Ft. Lbs in many applications.
If something goes out, you can get a rebuild kit for failry cheap. However, if you are between 400-500 ft. lbs, you should have zero issue.

708 wtq only issue is second gear grind that was there when it was stock. 26XXX miles. Hope that helps.
