Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

The R/T is comparable to a Bullitt and should run a 5 flat and low-mid 13's without much difficulty. I'm willing to bet that a CAI and a catback could get it into SS territory.

The only thing I'm hesitant about is buying from the company that is by far the most likely to not survive this depression. Dodge has somewhat of a reputation about quality control (or lack thereof), and I'd hate to be without a warranty.

I am going to buy because it uses the same parts as the other lx cars and their are plenty out there now....that I am not too worried about it failing...also I will be voiding my warranty.

Chrysler just got a $4 billion loan, with more coming, and FIAT now owns 35% of Chrysler.

Chrysler financial just got $1.5 billion. I think they will make it.

You would be amazed how much money a business the size of Chrysler eats up in a month.

Yeah, I know. And I'm not saying I think they will definitely make it.

I think if the Detroit 3 can just make it to the 4th quarter of this year, they will survive.

I also think the deals are only going to get better.

Wait till the Genesis Coupe, new Mustang, more Challengers, more 370Z's, and the Camaro are flooding the market.

Day-by-day I guess...

The R/T or the SRT8 could drop down to $20,000 and I still wouldn't buy one personally. They still have terrible handling and a bland interior. Not to mention Chrysler's horrible quality. My dad just got an '08 Charger back in June and ever since he got it, it's spent one week out of every month at the dealers getting fixed.

I can see your frustration with your dad's charger, however there is no need to come into this thread and say you wouldn't buy a Challenger SRT8 if the price dropped down to $20,000 because it simply sounds childish. I bet you the majority of folks on this forum would snag up a brand new SRT8 at $20,000 as a second car to put alongside their Camaro without any second thought. based on experience, no matter what type of vehicle you have from whatever company, there will be a time when you will have to take it in for warranty repairs. My Pontiac G6 has been in the shop over 25 times in the past 4 years and the warranty is about to expire. My friend has a Toyota Camry station wagon bought in 1986 that still runs today and has around 400,000 miles on it while it has never had to go back for engine work. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. Dodge may not have a good reputation for quality these days but neither does any American car company. They all are trying to re-gain that consumer trust they have lost over the years to the foreign car companies. With a 100,000 bumper to bumper warranty, repairs to me aren't a concern anymore. My friend their is no need to crap on the Challenger as it is a great car and at a low price is definitely worth looking into and giving a chance. They are rock solid performers and make a good challenge vs the Ford Mustang and soon to be Camaro...

yea im a bit lazy (why i asked the mope's)

ughhh... ok brb.

*Reserved for Figures*

Yea without going into a big long thing about options, really, the SRT's big accomplishment seems to be some Mopar Floor mats.

A challenger RT and Camaro are pretty close. there certainly is no 'handily defeat'. The camaro should be slightly faster. I have seen where challengers are running mid to low 13's. pretty much the same as a camaro, although camaros have run 12.9's stock.

no way is a V6 camaro going to go mid 13's.
