The only acceptable outcome is a null and void deal.
The new engine lowers the car's collectible value . . . which matters.

Tell the dealer, those 12 miles humped the car hard.

Leave them have the car. It will be a basket case. Again, WALK AWAY! If you accept this car, it is pure foolishness.

So much of this story doesn't make sense to me and I would hope I'd never put myself in this position. However in the event I were suffering from the effects of a traumatic brain injury and due to said brain injury I found myself entering into this crazy deal, I would hope my newly appointed guardian would do everything in their power to get me out of it.

Whatever work is done to it carries itself with the vehicle. Unless they can cut you a better deal on the car after finding a resolution to its issue I would walk away. You didn't drive it off the lot (i hope not).

Maybe you got a "deal" because the motor was hurt and they knew it?

Anyone realize this all could have been avoided if we went on a test drive?... You know, just to make sure, for sure.

Also, no damn chance of valve float with the stock rev limiter. Unless it's tuned and they raised the rev limit without putting in good springs and pushrods. I still say this is a troll.
As stated in this guys other thread a mechanical over-rev could have caused this on a stock motor. Wind out third gear then shift to second...

I do not think he is a troll and is telling it like it is. He is just asking for advice and help and like some have said, if you want to keep the deal and car you should demand a new engine. I hope all it works out well for you.
