Muscle Cars in the Future?
Hey Guys,
I got to thinking about something: In present day, for a lot of people they enjoy certain aspects about their car. A couple, for example, to name would be the exhaust sound, the acceloration (0-60 time), ect. How do you guys think that would change? For me, I can't imagine enjoying the sound of a loud electric motor. Do you think people's tastes will change over time? Maby they will be forced to change what they enjoy due to disasterous things such as the depletion of oil? Your thoughts?

hydrogen combustion is better, cause it packs even more punch then gas, and keeps the noise
it's zero emissions to of course |

Wow
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydroge...engine_vehicle Emissions: 2H2 + O2 = 2H2O With Nitrogen: H2 + O2 + N2 = H2O + N2 + NOx Nitrogen adds more horsepower? That's amazing how there is no emissions. I definitely learned something.

Make high a performance electric truck... that seats 4.... gets 400 miles per charge... fully re-charges in an hour or less... and has an on-board gas powered generator... I'll buy it. Quote:
What do you think all this talk has been about for the past 10 years when it comes to Hydrogen? |

BMW has a 7 Series that runs on Hydrogen. Generally an ICE.
GM and Honda have used hydrogen to fuel a Fuel Cell which generates electricity to power the vehicle. GM has over 100 Fuel Cell Equinox (what's plural for Equinox? Equinoxes? Equinoxi?) running around in California. Honda has the Clarity. The problem with Hydrogen is it is normally in gaseous state. To carry enough Hydrogen around to have any kind of range you have to have tanks that store the Hydrogen at very high pressures. Upwards of 10,000 psi. Although clean, it is expensive to create the Hydrogen and also the infrastructure. Also to fill a tank to 10,000 psi takes some time. No easy feat yet.

Yes, it's explosive, but the moment it comes into contact with air, it makes water...very boring and un-explosive. Crash-venting system? BMW's hydrogen tank was tested by shooting rifle rounds at it... should withhold crash damage until the tank is vented with air Of course, that's a luxury BMW... so on a 2025 honda civic... they're going to need a faster venting system |
