Option Package dissatisfaction

I know its kinda of early seeing as the car has not even made it to the lots yet but I had to make this post because I'm really pissed.

Looking at the info posted so far these are your options:

In order to get ambient lighting you must purchase the leather interior package.
In order to get HIDS/Halos you most get the RS package.

But what about those people who want HIDS but not the spoiler or 20 inch rims or want the lighting but not the leather. Why not offer the buyer the option to get what they want without buying needless crap.

I don't want oem 20inch rims because I plan on getting 3 piece forged wheels. I don't want leather because it gets real hot in the sun and it does not hold up to abuse like cloth. now I'm stuck paying x amount of money for stuff I don't want.

I know many will say get aftermarket hids/projectors. but honestly have you guys used aftermarket projectors? they suck and I really did not want to buy a new car just so I can retro fit appearance parts unto it.

Anyone else agree..

I think you're a bit premature on the "You can't get this without that." I want a girlfriend but my wife said no. Dayum her I'm so pissed I'll never buy another wife! OK really I want a 5th gen COPO but guess I'll hafta settle or move on.

I think the packages, as far as we can tell, look good to me, at this point. However, I can see from the other side of the fence - if you don't want all that other stuff, yeah, I can see you wouldn't be too happy. I guess it just isn't as feasible do order like they did back in the day.

Sorry...

I agree on the things you want and don't want; I want and don't want many of the same things. I intend to just buy the base model and add/swap parts until it's in the configuration I want. Then, not only will I have what I want, but I will have a unique car.

like I said I am going by the data sheet from yesterday...

And the fact that the SS is the top model for now; one would think some options would be standard. Look at the SRT8's the 20inch rims, spoiler, leather are standard.

Well if you want it, you got to pay up! I will have to as well. I do not want 20" on my car but if you want RS lights, then you just got to pay...

It's a special appearance trim. There's nothing special about it if you just get one piece of it. You can't call it RS and just get headlamps. It should be a package for tradition and heritage. That's how it has always been. I want the headlights, too, but I accept buying the package as part of the Chevrolet heritage.

If you just want the headlights, I'm sure some dealer will talk to you about a custom order. You can wait until a Camaro gets totalled and take their lights as well. You can still get what you want. There is always a way.

What about if you want one thing but dislike another? For example, maybe someone likes the RS bumper but hates the 20" wheels...now you have to pay twice, and it may not be something as easy to change as wheels that you don't like.

I can totally understand your view. If I had it my way, I would totally settle for the "LT ??" (the bottom model) if it were eligible for the RS package because I really want those headlights!
