Camaro all hype and no quality?
First of all I was supposed to have my summit white SS but I don't, I'm devastated but that's for another topic :(......
We all know how much we love the camaro and that the return of it is just a dream come true. The fact is, even if it was a donkey-ugly car we would've bought it regardless. But, here we are the first year model, the return of the coveted Camaro, and we have serious drivetrain problems when the car is driven aggressively. And from what I read on some threads it's even with regular driving. I'm talking about clutch issues and axels popping. WTH is up with that? I mean come on it's a brand new car!! Now I will give GM the benefit of the doubt because any company that produces doesn't know what will be the warranty issues to arise ONLY because they haven't faced them. I could totally understand if it's anything on this car going bad BUT the freakin drivetain. come on! How can you build a muscle car, 426HP, with launch control, and NOT GET OFF THE LINE!!! UGH! I just hope that they solve these issues in 2011 and upcoming models like they would any other car. They have to upgrade the quality on the Camaro THEY HAVE TO! ..... I may even wait til next year to get mines just for peace of mind |

I think you're reading too far into the few incidents we've seen here. This board has 26k members and I can count these drivetrain issues on one hand.

Define "plenty". I saw one, maybe two reports.

There are very few issues and most of them are isolated. The problems you hear of eith the driveshaft is mostly from people who are racing their cars. And there are very few cases compared to the amount of cars sold. We just happen to hear more about them here.
I've never had a problem with my clutch issue. The only time the clutch stuck, it was my fault. I burned the clutch. Which makes me strobgly believe that the issues people are reporting are driver error. |

I drive a subaru and on the subaru forums under the warranty section you would think that the world is ending just like on these forums ... Cars are man made and they all have problems ... hell even nasa's stuff breaks!

Yea, I thought maybe I went to the wrong Camarofest, probably way less problems than what you would see on a Test and Tune any Friday Night, especially considering there were alot of people making their first pass and some people (like me) that hadn't been on a dragstrip in 20 yrs. I was pretty well pleased.

I think the biggest issue here is you have a Web site that all people do is talk about the camaro and that is what it is for. If you did not have it you would know very little about any issues with the car. The issues you read about here are from 25k members there are 100,000 camaros out there it is not as bad as it seems.
Just my opinion
