$35k for a $37k in-demand and low-miles car sounds like a nice deal to me, especially here in CA but you have to remember and assume, the people who can afford to spend that kind of money for a car, let alone a used car, would likely have an idea of the depreciation factor. So, they would see the $2k less from a new price as an unfair and non-sensible buy and would likely rather spend the $2k extra and end up with a brand new car, and be without all the worries and uncertainties that normally come with buying a used car, low-miles or not.
I forget but did you say you'll be moving to the west coast, maybe California? If so, did you advertise in CA or wait til you get there and sell? You can probably walk into a CA dealer and get at least $30k for it. Dealer will sell it at a brand new price, at least.

Goodluck sir.

The dust has settled so the demand you think that is out there is no longer there for the most part.

Go to a small dealer that does not have one on the lot. In Dallas a 2SS Auto is still bringing 38k at the auction. Small town dealers buying them when they don't have allocation for new. I have a dealers license and have seen them sell myself. No heresay (sp) here. You have to act fast. They are getting more plentyfull daily.

Good luck.

Also, you've made modifications to your car...that may or may not be what a customer wants. Personally, when I start seeing modifications, I wonder if the car has been abused. Not that you have abused your car, but its what I've seen as a technician... For example-custom hood---was it hit in the front is my first reaction. Typically a modification is a no-return item UNLESS it is something done by a dealer-think Yenko or Hennessey. Something installed by a local speedshop might be worth something to a local person that knows the speedshop...to a non-local it won't be usually as they don't know the quality of the install.

Good luck with your sale, but I'm afraid you're experiencing what every new car buyer does...depreciation. It isn't unusual see 20% depreciation in the first year, no matter what the mileage is. I agree with the other posters...if you had sold this car when demand was huge and supply was low...you could have gotten window sticker or above even with mods.

My local dealer has two Camaros on the lot now...both of them sitting...one has been there three weeks, the other a week. No real lookers from what I hear...plenty of tire-kickers.
I'm with you. Mods are a big turn off to me. I do them to my own car because I know what was done and how the car will be run ,but I don't expect to get more for the car because of a mod. Very hard to get out from under a brand new car. I got lucky with my 2010 mustang because my buddy wanted.

99% of the people who would by this car would buy it new. I ordered mine like 95% of the members on this forum. It will be a while before people who want one are looking for a used 2010 Camaro. But, that does suck if your in a bind and need out of your loan payment. Talk to a few dealers that may take it off your hands and might be able to sell it with 'market value adjustments' lolz.

Cars like everything else, are only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it, not what you think it should be.

To answer a few questions-

sticker on the car was $36.9k, I did not pay a cent over sticker, it is a 2SS with A6 tranny, black rally stripes, polished wheels, painted engine cover and car cover for options

The mods on the car should not be a detractor to anyone, I will put the stock air box back on the car and knock money off the price if anyone is interested, that means the car has only a axle back system on it and I still have the stock mufflers, mods were done at 1500 miles, it has 1650 on it now

The car was never beat on (how much can you beat on a car in 1600 miles anyways??!), for the first 500 miles it was never taken over half throttle, oil was changed at the dealer around 600, it has been dyno'd and made 3 1/8th miles passes, I have never done a burn out with the car intentionally or street raced anyone with it, like stated in my for sale thread it is garage kept and covered 99% of the time except when I am driving it on nice days

as someone suggested maybe if it were 1-2k less it would sell, well if a grand were a deal maker or breaker I would strongly consider it, that being said MAKE ME AN OFFER!!!

and yes I am selling because I want to get out of NY state once and for all!

New car buyers can get the benefit of discounts i.e. GM card Earnings, 60 day waiver etc. to lower the MSRP.

As already mentioned, it's not the price that is your issue imo, it's where you're marketing it. Almost everyone on here wants a NEW car with less then 50 miles. You won't have that much trouble getting what you want if you advertise in more places. Try Ebay, Craigslist, and your local car sales papers, you will get a bite.

1. It's yellow...
2. It does not have the RS package
3. It's an AT

Try AutoTrader...cars.com...or Craigslist...

good luck with that!
