Z06 does have the capability to beat GTR's...

And then there have been some like me, trying to tell people to watch what they were asking for..you got it, and I will not say your welcome. I have been asking all along for a 5.3L DI(purpose built) manual only, 1SS/LE than was "manicured" at the plant. The Zeta platform is a pig to begin with I am sure that there is plenty more aluminum they could throw at it(doors, fenders, hood, trunklid, roof etc) and cut a hole here and there..no sunroof...and ya'll said that would cost money but it sure takes less engineering to replace a steel panel in the press with an aliminum one! Instead of carbon ceramic brakes it could have been bigger rotors and brakes. Would all of that cost money? Yep, but not 30k more than a base 1SS. The biggest cost factor still is the LS7 and I have bantered on about it not being cheap and cost effective for the Camaro.

I thought they said the Z28 is faster than the ZL1? And the ZL1 was pretty close to the GTR already.

$64,995. Out the door? $75000. Is it worth that? Not even close. Subtract $30000 and that's what it's worth. But of course GM is looking to make a car for ppl to drool at. Not drive. So there you have it folks.

I don't know if it's already been suggested but I think we could look at the price premium of the Zo6 Carbon Edition over a Base Zo6 to get an idea of what the Z28 will cost.

A lot of the goodies on the Zo6 Carbon Edition makeup the Z28 Edition.

While it is nice to guess the MSRP and observe the guess that are falling in the $40K to $80K range, we need to be careful of guessing too high.

GM may see us as potential customers and think that we are will to pay $80K for it!

Sooooo, the car should $44,995? So basically it should list for what a loaded 1LE lists for but have $25k in extra equipment for free.

That's what I was thinking too.

News Media: "So GM, why did you price the car so high?"

General Motors: "Well after observing the Camaro enthusiast community's predictions on price, we did not want to disappoint them again. I mean did you see the comments on our new Camaro's tail lights?"

I bet the price will be high. I'm guessing around the ZL1 MSRP. Too high for most, but not so high they won't sell every one with additional dealer markup.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that.

They can't get too crazy with it. Doesn't a Z06 start at like $75,000 ? Why would you pay more for a camaro than a corvette?

What add-ons are you guys talking about? This car is stripped, and won't be offered with any options (except A/C). Consider that ceramic brakes, recaro seats, a hand-built LS7 engine, and 19 X 11 wheels are STANDARD equipment. Maybe they'll sell you a flower vase for the dash!!!

Just like other performance car manufacturers (Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari), when they strip a model down for track performance, you pay more money.

$67,490

You can bet Mr. Rick Hendrick already has his name on the first one.
