not bad for a shakedown run..... 10.6@131mph
well even thou it was insanely hot today (over 100*s) I decided to go and just work on the cars 60's and just basicly get some passes on the new set-up out of the way.
I got to the track and there was only about 30 cars there total. there was no waiting in line you could literally just drive straight up to the starting line when you wanted to race. so soon as I got the car tech'd in I just went on up....not a great choice lol car was still completely heat soaked from the hour drive to the track. did my burnout, pulled to the line and left from idle. cut a 1.77 60'. car pulled great in first and second and then half way thru 3rd the iats were to hot and the car pulled all the timing out of it. literally felt like I just pulled to parachutes....so I let off the gas alittle before the end and coasted to a 11.1@127mph After that I went and bought a bag of ice and threw it on top of the whipple. turned on my mini generator and pulled my fan in to start cooling down the car. this time I would wait till after the sun went down and the car had cooled off completely. with the car cooled down I went back to the staging lanes. temp was about 85-88* and the DA was just over 3000. I dropped the tire pressure to 18psi in the 20" nitto 555r's and ran the car again.1.69 60'.... pulled great in first and second and most of the way thru 3rd....then parachutes lol. but much closer to the finish line this time. car went 10.6@131 now there is still a bunch of room for improvement in the 60' and also by adding some cooling mods to the car( some decent weather would also be nice) . I just bought all the stuff to add an ice chest to the trunk. so hopefully I can make a full pass here soon....then it's time to turn the bottle on. here is a vid, sorry about the sound. the truck I was racing was open headers. so it was really messing with the mic on the camera.

I watched this vid at the track and you can notice some sparks coming from under the car. but only for about the first 80-100'...I was looking at the track but could see anything with a flashlight. so im going to get under it tomorrow and see if I can find what it was. seems to only be doing while the car was squatting from the launch.

Well done, looks like you're on your way to 9's....I'm assuming you still have the 3.27 gears on the rear (factory), do you have any idea what your RPM's were at the end of the run?

CONGRATS
Thinking come cool weather, you might need some 18's or smaller to get your best 60' Was hoping to get down to your track this year-hasn't worked out-maybe next spring Tim

Nice run!
Give TrekGTO a PM and look into doing an AI Super Chiller to get your water temps down so it won't heat soak. I ran 3 back to back passes basically matbe 3-5 min. in between on Tuesday at 85+ degrees and my water temps were 40*,50*, and 53* starting and IATs were 50,60,65 degrees on the starts. Its a great way to ensure your IAT stay low and avoid knock.

yep got the slip sitting right here. r/t .547 60' 1.694 330 4.604 1/8 6.949 mph 105.27 1000 8.963 1/4 10.675 mph 131.50 my best time before was a 7.0 @ 100mph. but the weather was 62* and the DA was 1200....so I think this combo has a lot left in it with some cooler weather. the weather/heat was so bad yesterday I really didn't think it was going to run anywhere near what it did.

this is my set-up at the track. everything fits in the trunk. 2 chairs, mini generator, floor drying mini fan, ext cord.
its a great set-up. just load up and go to the track. no truck, trailer etc, etc. nice break from the racing im use to.
