Problems at launch

So, I took the 2014 SS A6 down to the track last night for the first time, and encountered a problem. I'm use to my V6 A6 launching, where a brakestand lets your get the RMP up to 3kish and bang, your gone when you see yellow.

This car for some reason won't let the RPM up above 1500 on a brakestand.

I tried to work with the launch RMP, but didn't make any progress... If I matted it, when i released the brake the car fell flat on its face and stumbled it's way out off the line. Leaving from idle just doesn't cut it. Car takes too long to get up to RPM.

Do I need to be looking at the converter, there isn't any way it's that tight, is there?

Or is this something in the tune?

Car has LT headers, with factory cat back, and an intake. the passes were made with a set of 315 35R20 nitto 05 drag radials.

best run of the night was a 13.1 with a 2.08 60' at a 2300' DA

The stock converter is definitely tight, 1800 stall maybe! Could have tune issue also and having tires is bogging it down. Don't mess around, just put a 3600 in it and be done with it.

Stock tune?
Stall torque management doesn't allow you to foot brake past 1500rpm.
