If you only want to use the factory knob I would Highly recomend option 7 from Barton Industries. http://www.bartonindustries.com/BUY-...ter---Acc.html
They are a great company to deal with. |

I love my MGW shifter. I wanted the stock knob too and it looks just like factory. It is a smooth and quiet shifter.

Ours does as well. We offer shifters that take the stock knob and boot as well as offer a threaded versions for those that want to do their own knobs.

I got the MGW and used the stock knob and boot. Looks stock but shifts a thousand times better. I could'nt see spending $250-$350 for just a stick, for just a little more you can get the whole shifter from MGW.

Thanks everybody that is whyi love this forum you can learn anything just ask. and you will find out thegood bad and ugly . so anyway all this info has led to more questions. i have felt some short throws in those "other cars" that have a good positive lock engagement when put into a gear and some that dont. I prefer to feel the shift if that make any sense. which of these shifters listed above has a good positive engagement on the shifts. And i do not have a lift can any of these be installed on the ground.

You will "feel it" and hear it as it goes in and out of gear like the bolt on a rifle. All you need are jack stands to do the swap. -Mark. |

I agree with Stingr69. Gear engagement is very solid and positive with the MGW. Going into and out of each gear you will hear and feel a pretty audible "kerchunk". It has a precise feel to it I guess you could say, like the bolt on a bolt action. I'm not a sales rep for these guys but I'm very pleased with their product.
