Man if I did that when I was little my mom would have whip the f**k out of me with a leather belt. Btw no one should shoot BBs in the city anyways, the metal ones can be really dangerous at times.

This is for sure the best way to handle this...
Talk the cops into being totally angry with the parents and kid and they want the kid prosecuted and the parents too but YOU REFUSE TO LET THE COPS DO THAT! The cops will gladly play along and the parents and kid are your allies for life and gladly pay for your damage and will guard your car with their life
I did it with neighbor kids stealing my siding off my house in Ohio(bad neighborhood) and they would have taken a bullet for me after that. |

Can you prove all the damage on the car is a result of the BB gun?
You can try pressing charges, but the chances are the most they will throw at him is criminal mischief and maybe a few other issues. They arent going to toss "assault" at him because he wasnt shooting AT YOU. They wont toss "destruction of property" because you cant prove he was shooting at the Camaro. If it goes to small claims court (which a money fight will) you will likely end up with very little, if any, money. Dont listen to half of the people posting. Be the mature one and tell the parents that they can either pay the repairs or they are going to court. Chances are they will pay and have that be over. If you cant prove the damage came from the BB gun, then you are basically 100% screwed. |
