I just took a 2012 GT500 out for a test drive(getting impatient waiting for word on vert ZL1) and that is a beast! Not even fully broken in, so 80% on blower, but the power is shocking!! But I couldn't help but be reminded of my '81 Z28 that had 450hp....lots of power in a straight line but it didn't feel as confident in the corners or on braking as I would have liked. I'm sure the ZL1 will feel entirely different as Randy Pobst said in the "ZL1 vs. Boss" comparison...his new "favorite American muscle car".

I dropped my order since I didn't get the 2012 and I'm now waiting for my 2013 GT500. Why not there is already an SS in the family? I'll be able to tell the Camaro world exactly how it feels and for Ford to come out on top of the HP war after all the hype....

I didn't want to be getting my car just in time to store it for the winter. As far as the 2013 having more HP. I highly doubt it. I think GM would have a lot of 2012 ZL1 guys standing at corporate with picks and shovels. LOL |
