Taillight Gap (Bezel Removal)

Does anyone know where I can get the "marine rubber gasket" from to fill in the taillights gaps. A member told me home depot and they didn't carry that type of gasket. I also tried Napa. Are there any other alternatives I can take?

Its name is just "MD" Marine/Auto All Climate Rubber Weatherseal. Its a soft rubber that contours nicely around the tail lights. Not 100% perfect. Maybe 98.5%. But its the best I've seen around. And the chrome bezels that come with the car doesn't keep water from getting behind anyway. A few users have found it at there local auto stores or marine shops. I found it a my local Home Depot.

This is from a post with what i did.... hope it helps...

I went a step further and removed the tail lights themselves and bought Metro SuperSoft Sponge Weatherstrip size 5/16x3/4x10 feet in lenth from Autozone. This is a little thicker than the door trim and fit really really really, did i mention really fit snug in between the gap. I cut out the indentations where the tabs would go from the bezels with an exacto knife and it is self adhesive as well. I didn't tape it to the housing, but to the tail light so it would not damage the paint with time.

Oh, one other thing, once I had removed the tail light, I got a file, taped the around the tab that sticks out and filed it down so the weatherstrip went around and wrapped it pretty good.... About the only place where I'll be working is on the outer lights. Due to the curvature of the lens and being a very symetrical weather strip, you can notice a small gap. ... I'll post a few picks I took.. once someone tells how to... hehe. Thanks for your help with this with your tips and hope this helps out anyone else.

i went to home depot cause that is what the poster first put. however they dont carry MD marine or ANY black weather stripping for that matter, at my store here in california at least.

i work at LOWES HOME IMPROVEMENT, and they have it. perfect what he said. its like 7 bux for a 10 foot roll. purple package in hardware aisle. MD weather stripping i think its 5/16ths thick. did mine this weekend and it came out perfect. i didnt use silcone like they say to and its perfect so i would say that optional. i just put a little dab of it in bewtween where the ends meet so it looks like one piece. looks flawless on mine. wayyyy cleaner then rings of chrome ewwwwwwww.
