Ohm checking coils

Anybody know if you can ohm check our coils and which pins to check to, along with expected readings?

I can't answer your question, but if you suspect a misfire from a coil, just swap the suspect coil to the other bank and see if the misfire moves with it. It would take longer to drag out the meter and hook it all up.

I have another set sitting here, but they are not Brand new and I just wanted to check them if I could. I have logged a misfire and found 2 bad plug wire on those cylinders but the miss is still there just not as bad I suspect I have a coil slowly going out. I will change them one the cylinders as I need but was just wondering is there was a OHM check I could to check the ones I have here and compare when I take on off.

I checked my repair source and it lists no spec for the coils themselves. The only thing it says is to move the suspect coil and see if the misfire moves with it. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Take resistance readings on all of them, if one is more than +/- 10% you may have a suspect. Induction readings would mean more than resistance but most cannot access an L meter. Shorted turns will result in lower resistance & less output for spark.

1-2 ohms on the primary side of the coil and 5-6k ohms on the secondary. Plug wires run about 2-3k ohms per foot.
