Find build date.

I thought I read somewhere before that there is a way to find out exactly when the Camaro was built by the VIN #. Just kind of wondering when mine was built. Thanks.

The dealer can run the VIN and tell you when the car reached each step of the ordering process (event codes) including the 3800- produced "level".

Does it matter that I did not order it? I purchased it from the dealer.

Open the hood and look on the left side near the frame you will see a sticker and that will give you the build date and time etc.

I took a picture of mine ..

That's the right side of the car, on the upper unibody just behind the radiator support. Someone also posted that it's also under the rear unibody but I never looked for mine there.

That is NOT the build date of your vehicles. It is the date Martin Rea built your suspension.

There should be a sticker on the frame directly behind and above the the rear gearbox. It has the time and date on it. Or as others have said go to your dealer and have them pull and "event code history".

The bar code sticker on my car corresponds with everything I have on my car with a TPW of 8/3. The sticker says 8:30 AM on 8/3, It was out the door on 8/4 and on the train on 8/5. What does the sticker on the painted unidody rail have to do with the suspension ?. Of course the suspension was built before the car was on the assembly line.

So, which sticker is the "correct" build date?

Your car was probably started ( framed ) on July 31st a Friday and dropped from paint on Aug 3 mid-afternoon , rolled off the line in Chassis on the 4th and was ok'd for shipping and loading for the 5th.
