Black Paint for Trim Pieces
I want to paint my tail light bezels and front/rear bowtie a glossy black to look similar to the car's body paint. Will any regular black spray paint like duplicolor do the job?
I currently have these parts plasti-dipped, but decided I want a gloss black instead of matte black. |

Same scenario here. Was PD but wanted a better match. I used a standard paint and then hit it with clear afterwards. I THINK i used Duplicolor but honestly can not remember.

Yes a rattlecan black and clear will work. Just make sure to get rid of all the plastidip and clean the bezels off well before u do it.

You can add glossifer to plastidip to shine it. It won't give you that super high gloss finish but it does add a shine. In order to paint, its a lot more detailed then just spraying it black. You have to scuff the surface with a 600-800 grit sand paper, just enough to take the shine off. Then primer, paint and clear. Ive used both Duplicolor and Rustolem on interior and the engine bay with zero issues. Prepping is key when painting. Be sure to clean them well after you sand. Soap and water, dry then wipe down with alcohol.
