When they thinned out the rear glass, that took out some weight that was sitting up high, thus lowering the CG.

The engine is heavier, but its a dry sump system. It sits lower, and the added weight of the reservoir sits (presumably) towards the middle of the car. Lower CG & better polar moment. I imagine that the axles are a tad stouter than the SS units, which again lowers the CG. Same thing with a beefier suspension.

Looking at the basic specs isn't enough to understand whats going on with the Z/28. You have to dig deeper. And the deeper I dig, the more impressed I get. It all fits with a single mindedness, a single purpose. This is a car build to do one thing, and do it awesomely. And that one thing is "To beat the shit out of anything Ford can out on the road"
....nice post DG.... It will do what it's designed to do....carve corners and run right back into them deep.....a wheel mans car for shure. Ford has no answer right now.

I think that was just a top and bottom 5 items. No mention of speakers.

Yeah, looking back I only fudged in 15 lbs for the 'missing middle' and that might be a little low. I don't really know how far off it is, but I imagine they add up to maybe 30 or 40 lbs instead of 15. But thats still a pure guess.

I'm sure if I really wanted to I could get an easy 100lbs out of the car and you wouldn't even notice. There's a lot of parts on a car that are designed for ease of assembly, and are designed for quick production to bang these parts out. You can trim metal here and there and remove sound deadening in various places without effecting a thing. Sometimes I look at certain tiny things and notice how overbuilt they are like muffler hangers, and length of certain bolts and whatnot. If you mind the ounces the pounds will come.

Ah ok.

Wondering if we could get the full weight reduction list from anywhere.

...that is highly doubtful, and if you could do it, it would not be cost effective.
