I would hold off on ordering until after I get mine in, probably around the end of the month. I ordered a my own very aggressive offset so they won't stick out at all! My fronts will be VERY close to the strut and might actually rub a tiny bit. After I get mine mounted I will post pictures and see how well my offsets work.

Ok I think you have your rims and tires now. How about a picture or two and some thoughts?

IMO GM got it right with the Camaro, the 20's look best, the 18's and even the 19's look to small for this car. It changes the look in an adverse way, the car is to wide and muscular for an 18" wheel, I had 18" wheels on my Mini Cooper S!!!

Wheels fit PERFECT! The tires not so great. The sidewalls have quite a bit of bulge to them. The middle of the sidewall bulges so much that it comes extremely close to the strut.
I'm betting some 295s with a flat sidewall would have more clearance than these 285s with a bulging sidewall. Some wide 275s would fit even better. Oh well, they were dirt cheap and I'll go with some flat sidewall tires next time.

I haven't posted any pics yet because I am changing my suspension up and have her on stock springs right now, so she is in full 4x4 mode and looks pretty goofy. I'll post up a ton of pics once I get her back down to the ground.

Other than that they handle GREAT! Car feels incredibly responsive and so much more controllable.
it's kind of hard to explain, it's not like the car felt uncontrollable before but it just feels so much better now.

I think the perfect size for these cars is 19s. My 18s are a little tighter but do look too small. IMO 20s are heavy SUV wheels, stock rears are 68 lbs and even the narrower fronts are 62.3 lbs. Hell, my 6,060 lb Escalade ESVs 31.6" stock wheels/tires are 56 lbs each! Not sure why my muscle car needs stock wheels that are 36.6 lbs heavier than my giant SUV.

My 18x10 Forgestar F14s with 285/40 18s come in at 53 lbs!!!

When it comes to my muscle car i will give up a little in the looks department to get a ton more in every single performance department.

Trust me, your car with 18" looks "muscular." It looks more "muscular" and aggressive than stock Camaro SS, that's for sure.
I guess you should have gotten a Mini Cooper with 18". lol
But we do understand that 20" wheels do look good on a Camaro. But some are more concerned with performance.

And my buddy's Camaro SS with 17" Welds looks extremely "muscular." He gets compliments everywhere from hard core racers and old school muscle car guys.

So it more about how your car is setup. Not necessarly the wheels size.

Car with 22"+ wheels to me look anti performance (less muscular to me).

Like I said its all about the setup. This car looks very muscular with 18" wheels.

Here's another one of my favorites.
This car truely looks bad axx. Its running 18" wheels. You see a car setup like this on the street and you know its all about performance.

Sorry, not yet. With my new baby boy I haven't had much time to spend with Ginger.

My tires right now are a little taller than I would like at 27" (285/40 18), but they should look good once I get her lowered again.

Yeah, you like a smaller tire. That does complicate things. A smaller tire with an 18" wheel increases the amount of wheel gap (thus the need for a pretty significant drop).

I need the sidewall for traction. With my 3200 stall and very aggressive 1st gear (A6) I'm having all kinds of issues hooking up on the street. Thats with 305/35/20 NT555R drag radials.
That's why I'll be switching to 305/45/18 NT555Rs. That's what my friends are running on the street in their 500+ rwhp 5th gens. The extra sidewall flex (along with the ability for the tire to sit more flat on the road) improves off the line traction.

Running that setup with also allow me run to run down to the local track whenever I feel like racing.

Glad to see this thread. I have been putting off buying wheels and tires because I haven't been able to make up my mind on which size wheels to get.

This has given me valid points to factor in.

Congrats, big baby there!

Nittos won't hook as good at M/T's, Nittos have a higher treadwear rating and they last a lot longer for a reason.
