hi everyone!!!...car was delivered to my dealer-Jerry's Chevy in Leesburg, VA on 5/18/09...since i live in NY, i hopped on Amtrak and got there the next day, SO, officially i took delivery on 5/19/09...ordered 1/2/09 from a friend i used to work with on Long Island, NY 30 yrs ago!!!...he moved to VA and we lost track until last fall when we re-connected on facebook...found out that he manages Jerry's Chevy, and the rest, as they say, is "history"...car is RJT w/ gray interior, 2LT/RS, V6 auto, 20"polished alum wheels, spare tire...it is far more amazing in person than any photo can show...we drove it home from VA to NY, about 300+ miles and it is a "show stopper"...like others before me have said, people are practically falling all over themselves or driving into us trying to get a look, honking and waving and taking photos...every time we stopped at a rest stop, people came from all over looking and commenting about the car and there is not 1 negative thing they had to say...the only thing that i wish is that the visors were a bit lower...they don't reach far enough to shade my eyes...BUT, the car is so comfortable and quiet and smoooooth...i have a bad back and was concerned about ordering a car i never sat in or test drove...i survived 8 hrs in the car coming home and it was not an issue...i cannot sing the praises of this car enough without "writing a book" about my joy and elation of being the proud owner of the most amazing car in the history of the universe!!!!!!!!...

Got 'er done today, picked the baby up in Houston. Born on May 6, was 16 days old on delivery. Was held up with serveral rails cars in north Houston, we've seen lots of Camaros around the last two days as the cars were unloaded. Car is a beauty, getting lots of looks. Note the spiffy license plate holder for the back!

Now I can sleep

Ordered 11-18-08
Picked up 5-22-09
Shaheen Chevrolet - Ben Hehnke (terrific guy!!!) Lansing MI
1SS-RS
MN6
RJT
BLK interior
Sunroof
Polished wheels

I got two messages after work on Thursday; first one was in the AM my guy telling me he got a call telling him my car heading to the dock for shipping; second one telling me "I cam back from lunch and I'm looking at it". He tucked it inside thier showrrom in the back corner imediately. I went home, packed a bag and tried to get some sleep. (that didnt work so well. lol) 5:00am I got up, did the morning routine, went to my shop and got a trailer, money and paperwork and hit the road around 6:00am. Pulled in the dealer's parking lot in Lansing at 2:05pm. We BS-ed for a while, took care of all the paperwork, and I drove it out and on to the trailer w/ 4.6 miles on the odometer and, as I had specifically requested, UN PDI-ed. Left Shaheen at 5:00 and headed back to the east coast. Pulled in my driveway at 1:30am and went to bed and got up at 6:00 to go to work. The trip took a little longer than usual but I had my German Shepherd with me and as a curtousey to her, I made a few more stop than normal.

I'll probably pull it out tomorrow and give it a bath and take some pics then, but here is one I snapped with my phone on the trailer right outside the dealership.

I cant say enough about Ben! He is an awesome guy to deal with. NO BS!!! He is straight forward with none of the typical salesman fake smile crap. He did me real right. If anyone in the mid michigan area is looking for a good guy to deal with, Ben is the man! Take it from me, I drove from Maryland.

# 7879 picked up, and on it's way home!

Hi All,
Just wanted you to let you know that I picked up my long awaited Rally Yellow 1SS at Lone Star Chevrolet in Houston yesterday. Thank You Sid, for a great experience!
I've already put like 200 miles on it, driving around in the Houston area.
It's like having a candy and I have just peeled of the wrapping I will suck on this for a loong time
All I can say is: This car is beyond imagination, and the reactions from people in traffic: Thumb ups, cell phones taking pictures, cars following to get a better look! I was warned but OMG It's all fun though, as long as they stay on the road
Let's see what the reactions are on the way to Northern California. That's right, the maiden voyage will be up to Eureka, California tru San Antonio, Flagstaff, Las Vegas...
I might post some pics on the way, if I'm not to busy driving

Oh, and just for the records, I ordered 11/29/08 and some pictures:

That CGM with black stripes is a showstopper..... My son, WhoDat24, finally got his RY 2SS/RS on Saturday. Now he drives off in it to return to Virginia to school. I am going to miss it/him....

Anyway, here's my son with our plane and OUR car.....

#7759 - Is Home - Yahoooooooooo

Well, the big day finally arrived Friday (May 22nd). I picked up my beauty Friday afternoon. I ordered her through Talty Chevrolet-Cadillac- Buick, in Morris, Illinois. What a great group of people with which to deal. And by the way at this point in time they do have an SS en route which hasn't been Sold (I believe).

Ken Talty (Owner), Tim Smith (Sales Associate) and Tony Bellio (F&I Manager) are awesome people with whom to deal.

Anyway, after taking car of the paperwork and the usual in the F&I Manager's Office, it was finally time to bring her home.

We had stopped by twice in he prior 10 days to look at her. Once when she had just arrived and next after the striping and engine cover were added. The last time was just awesome. My wife and I were speechless when we went back to look at her.

I brought her home and put her in the garage for a quick cleaning before I left for Watervliet Micghigan at 4:30 am the next morning.

Details on that trip later.

What a beautiful car. Head turner to the max. Have drawn a gathering everywhere we have taken her over the past couple of days.
