RX Catch Can with Dual Check Valve

Has anyone installed the RX Catch Can with Dual Check Valve for their ZL1? I bought one and it did not have instructions to go with it. I am not the most mechanically inclined person out there but the instructions I found on the website were not very user friendly. I'd appreciate the feedback.

I bought one, but haven't installed it yet. I saw that in the instructions you have to tap into the air inlet pipe. I just installed a Roto Fab intake and there is no way I am drilling a hole it the pipe!

Right now it's just sitting on my bench. Would like to know too how other people installed the dual can on there ZL1.

Yep, I just dealt with them on a different issue. They were great to deal with. They went above and beyond in taking care of my problem. Give them a call or shoot them an email, they will get you fixed right up.

I will be in the next day or two. maybe I will take pictures and put a DIY up. I have seen this question come up quite a few times.

I ordered the dual valve so I know where to hook in with the single value but I don't know the exact location for the second valve hookup.

Okay did the install last night. here is the nuts and bolts of it.

1. the braket goes beween the shroud and radiator with the bend facing the passenger side.
2. the bolt is too short so you need to swap that bolt for the one on the radiator support above it.
3. there is paint in the threads ont he catch can most likley so make sure you run the bolts in bfore you try to thread on the brackt.
4. locate the valley vent to vacuum tube under the bypass valve actuator and remove it.
5. the center port goes to the crankcase or vally tube. the lowest tube below the TB.
6. the port closest to the engine goes to vaccum wich is the upper port.
the port closet to the radiator goes to the a barb fitting supplied mounted int he intake tube.

I will have pictures later I am going to write up a word doc and send it to them just because there's is kind of at level that some will struggle with. and there just show pictures of the barb fitting mounted int here optional tube. A simple picture with the ports on each labbled a, b, c or something like that would really clear this up for people. Also instruction about mounting the barb in the oem tube will clear confusion up.

it does require tapping into the intake tupe. it is just a pipe tap so my .02 would be do it and you could always use a flush allen style pipe plug to go back.

Great pic's, I have mine on the bench right now also. I'm waiting on my new Intake so i don't have to tap a hole into the stock pipe.

What is the difference between the dual and single valve? I was under the impression the single valve catch cans were to be used?

Does it matter how long the hoses are?
Does the elevation of the catch can in relation to the valley ports matter?

I want to install one of the RX cans but mounting it to the radiator or anywhere in the engine bay just adds to the "octopus" look under the hood.

I would like to mount it somewhere low between the radiator and the front grill, if hose length and elevation is not factor. Any thoughts ?

I talked with the engineer who designed this catch can. He said the single valve was good to use on the ZL1. He said the double valve was nice but not necessary. I ordered the single.

the dual valve catch can will allow for some crankcase evacuation at WOT is what they told me.

I just called RX direclty and that is what they recomended for the ZL1. it is not required just recomended. I am going to be addeding boost at some point so i just went with it.
