Status of cars sitting in Pontiac, MI - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Can someone (insider) please give an update on the Camaros on quality hold(first ~2500 VINs)?

Are they 80% done? 50%?

Are they shipping them one at a time as they are finished with the QC hold?

Are they going in order of VIN#?

Will some VINs become ready before others?

I am really sick of driving this V6 hand-me-down mustang.....

The answer to this question is that there is no response from anyone who might even come close to the truth of this situation. It is a totally disgusting, inappropriate and ignorant on GMs part to allow this to perpetuate for as long as it has. These units should have received priority treatment from the day each was produced. Am I an upset and disgruntled GM customer? I can't express the half of it. All we can do is wait it out. Don't count on seeing your camaro any time soon. That is unless GM wakes up and either communicates the problems (delay) or decides to fix them in an expeditious manner.

we got a call on thrusday from gm, we werent home and couldnt get ahold of them friday we will call back monday morning, hopefully its good news. at lest im hoping for an explination of whats going on.

I've stated this in other topics, Scott (fbodfather) told the Owner of my dealer that they are replacing noisey power steering pumps, at least 2500 Camaro's. Also could be the battery cable now.

Flood the GM blog with that question Monday morning. Let's see if we can get Fritz to answer it in his Q&A. Don't forget to also mention all the pre-orders that are still at 1100 while non-preorders are being filled.

Spike started a thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21594 to find out just how many non pre-orders have been delivered, as you suggest. To date there are none. Why aren't these people speaking up?

Keep in mind, some of these "pre-orders" are actually dealers ordering cars for themselves to sell, and/or all these cars on Ebay and autotrader are people that canceled their orders and the dealer is trying to unload them.

I too get frustrated with the lack of communication regarding time frame of delivery. I could really care less what they are doing to it any more, I just want an expected delivery date and why that date is so far away..... waiting on parts "A", '"B", & "C", to show up; once those parts show up, it will take "X" amount of days, etc.

#1312 still there, if it's a cable and power steering pump, send my son and I there, we'll fix then in a couple of weeks, NOT OVER 6 WEEKS! Come on GM, someone knows something and has the spine to let us know.
