Speaking of 4 Pack Gauges, does anyone else that has installed the HUD have a problem with the cigarette lighter on it or am I wrong that it is even able to provide power to charge or etc.

Ok I am wanting to do this in the winter. I am going to change my interior accents from silver to white. I want to also change my abl to a nice blue led like what I bought from Ivan. I would also like to have it run across the dash.

Now just within the past few months I found that AAC has a dealer in Richmond,Kentucky. Would they be able to do this mod for me? Or is this something I need to go someplace else to have done? I just do not trust myself with soldering things.

I just did my passenger door. Looks good but the red is way too dim. Is there another LED I should get to increase the output?

I used a 5mm LED from Radio Shack (2.6 volt, 28mA, 10mcd) and 1k-Ohm Resistors (1/4 watt, 5% tolerance). I just noticed there's a Resistor color code on the back that says First and Second color, Red = 2. Not sure what this means, I'm new to the LED world, lol. Any help would be appreciated.

If you use a slightly smaller resistor the LED will be brighter. Try a 500ohm or even a 750.

so the smaller the ohms the brighter the LED?

That's correct but there is a risk of burning out your LED. Less resistance allows more current through, which makes the light brighter. Your running it "harder" though so it MAY bring down the lifetime a little. It's ok to experiment with varied resistances though, you won't hurt anything but the LED which is like 50 cents. I'm not sure which LED's you've got but I typically use ones rated at 5-10 mA and run them up to 15 mA with little to no issue. Just remember V=I*R and you can pick a resistor to run a desired current and you won't have to guess and re- solder a whole bunch.

That is why you dont buy at Radio Shack, You are using the right resistor for that LED but you need a better one then that, Have you tried from any one other then Radio Shack

Are there any other local shops that may carry stuff like this? Or should I just order off a website? I'm impatient when it comes to mods, so I tend to go for anything local where I don't have to wait for shipping.

I need a better resistor or a better LED? Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it.
