Octane rating & e-tuning
Hello,
I want to e-tune my car but I am not sure what octane is needed in order to match the fuel available in my country. We have 97 RON & 95 RON, RON stand for Research octane number (i.e. 97 octane "RON"). One of my friends is running a custom 93 octane remote tune on his 2010 GT-R from COBB and he use the 97 RON available here on the 93 Octane map with no issues so far. The question is does 93 octane = 97 RON / 91 octane = 95 RON ? he told me its ok but I wanted to share this with you guys on Camaro5 in order to help me As I am confused and have no experience in this thing. Best wishes and thank you for the help in advance Mohammed.

You basically have it all correct.
Generally speaking, add +4 to the AKI number, in order to achieve RON equivalent for your rides tuning requirements. Sorry it took so long for someone to answer you, lol. |
