I' pretty sure it's legal to do that. It was all over the news last year when the CDN$ was worth more than the US$. Some US dealers refused to sell to canadians, other would not only sell, but help out with the paperwork. The thing is, it can be more trouble than the savings are worth. Paperwork, possible warranty problems (finding a dealer that will accept US warranty), duty and taxes, registering your car in the US to just drive it across the border than registering it here, etc... My neighbor saved a few thousands on his new Acura last year. My opinion is that the US price has to be more than 15% cheaper than the CDN price to be worth it.

You save massive amounts on the corvette even after everything. I think i was motoring 2009 that showed how much you saved by going through it completely. You save aaround 12 on the base c6 and 19 or more on the z06, cant remember the savings so they may be wrong.
I thought that there is a list where certain car are allowed, and certain ones that are not. And something about the car having 5000km on it to be transfered. |

IIRC GM Canada will not warranty a US vehicle unless it has been on the road for 6 months and has 7500 miles on it.
Lots of proper information can be found here. http://www.riv.ca/Home.aspx

Well, right now, 6 months in storage kinda makes the Warranty a non-issue...

I know a guy in Wetaskiwin that says that he will bring them up from the US, works within the dealer network, if you are looking at a purchase I can pass you his name and number.

There is nothing illegal about bringing cars into Canada yourself (with certain, limited exceptions which do not apply to the Camaro). I have done it before (BMW Z4). But, as some people have pointed out here, Chev MAY not like it and not honor the warranty. Given the state of the economy down south, I suggest you look into it tho - they may make an exception for the Camaro given that there aren't that many. The other suggestion I have for you, is to start contacting Ontario dealerships - there is inventory out east! Tom

I have brought 2 Silverados, one GTO and 2 RV trailers and I saved about $15,000 each on the trucks and about $8000 per trailer.
The GM warranty goes with the car and it has to have been titled in the USA. The FULL warranty applies in CANADA when the car reaches 6 months and 6000 miles. You will have to reprogram the BCM to make the DRL meet our standard ( can not be switched off) Or slice the green wire behind the switch for the inspection. All outstanding recalls have to have been completed before you import. Go to the RIV Canada site and read the process. $195.00 fee. GST paid at the border. Pst when you register. (must be within 45 days) There is a used dealer here who has brought 3 in in the last 6 weeks.
