Exclamation 1SS DRL disabling, but keep Auto on @ night?

I want to have my 1ss headlights only come on at night..... I already installed HIDs to it and it is a PITA shutting them off every time I start the car during the day. Any ideas?

no one finds this annoying? I don't want DRLs anymore. How do I disable them?

It's probably gonna be a fuse that goes to a relay for the drl's. If I had a schematic I'd probably be able to tell you heh. Good luck.

I would think you could just disconnect the lights and tape over the ends to keep water out. Maybe that's a bad thing to do, but I don't know enough about these things.

He has the 1ss without the rs package, he installed HIDs into the stock halogen housings. When you do this, your HIDs will be on during the day because the low voltage for the day time running lamps (which is the headlights, not the fogs on a non RS car) will turn on the HIDs. I have a 2SS without the RS package and have been looking into how to deal with the DRL and would also like to find a way to disable them. There should be a relay somewhere for them that you would just have to remove the relay. I haven't tried to find it yet.

me neither, my buddy has a 2006 gto and his drl were the headlights also. he pulled the fuse and poof, they were gone. and with this method he has retained the auto on at night function. THIS IS WHAT I WANT TO ACCOMPLISH!!!

Actually took my car to the dealer this morning and had them hook it up to their computer to disable the DRLs and they couldnt figure it out either. This sucks. BFXenon sent me a relay kit that was supposed to fix it but all it does is make a horrible buzzing sound til my HIDs flicker and then go out.

tHESE NEW 2010'S HAVE CURRENT SENSING CIRCUITRY WHICH WILL GIVE YOU AN ON DASH NASTY-GRAM IF ABULB IS BURNT OPEN, OR ANY OTHER "REGULAR" CURRENT LEVEL TO A LIGHT IS OFF FROM SPEC'S. tHIS IS TO "HELP " YOU IDENTIFY A BURNT OUT LIGHT or excesssive power draw,, BUT ALSO PREVENTS YOU FROM ADDING AUXILLIARY INTERIOR LIGHTS TO CERTAIN FUSED LINES. THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER LINE IS NOT MONITORED (FUSED ONLY) AS THE CAR EXPECTS VARIABLE LOADS THERE. Don't believe me?...just disconnect a tail light or turn signal lamp, and an in dash display will tell you which lamp is drawing no power (due to an open filiment...it assumes) so that you are aware of a needed bulb...and also to protect GM from a lawsuit. Lots of those today!!. These 2010's have current monitoring for just about anything that draws power, and will allert the driver is something is drawing too much power or too little power. Add interior LED lights to the interior lighting fused line, and you'll get an error message. unplug a light bulb, and you'll get a "replace bulb" advisory message. These is a whole lot of computer monitoring covering the entire electrical system of it. More work ($$$) for GoodWrench guys to do to the hapless owners of these.
