I think so litle. I'll for sure be tearing the motor down when I get back and have some time. I'm gonna try the old screwdriver trick to pinpoint the problem cylinder and go from there. I'm hoping it's on a lobe that I can see with the heads on. I always thought my first tear down on this motor would be to add power... now it looks like it'll be to fix it before it explodes!

The one in the front you can't see too well from the angle I took the pic.

Thanks litle. I appreciate the support. I think it's towards the back, but I haven't scoped it yet. Just a gut feeling. Lemme get out there with my screwdriver and see what's up.

I took my handy screwdriver and probed around on the valve covers. There is a definite tapping coming from the rear passenger side. I'm gonna guess cylinder 6 or 8. Listening with a screwdriver didn't help too much. It makes me even more suspicious of a part buried under the heads. I listened with a longer pipe on each primary... still not much evidence to be had. It really stinks of something buried in the motor instead of an easier valvetrain diagnosis.
Thanks for your interest William. It's 10:30 CST... get off the clock!

Final thoughts tonight.
1) Why does disabling traction control eliminate a WOT misfire (that doesn't show up as a code)? This is probably a question better aimed at someone with more tuning knowledge than I. 2) I haven't found any metal shavings in my oil. I think we're way ahead of this. 3) Why does it only squeak at low RPM? On a dip or on shutdown. I can't figure out what would make it do that.

that god damn stabiltrak warning thing is like the blanket there is something wrong code without being a code....i went through it with a misfire but got no code because of a cracked plug.
really sounds like a roller because of the squeaky part of it. headers do amplify valvetrain noise but your valvetrain should not squeak and sound like a belt on a shitty honda

It may be a bearing issue....
