Cold Air Intake makes a weird noise

I installed a K&N Cold air intake on my 2015 2SS convertible. After install took it out for a test run and could tell a noticeable increase in hp and torque. When I shut the car down, I heard a weird sucking noise. Never heard it before with the stock intake.
I have installed cold air intakes on other cars and never heard this.
Any ideas what this is from?

Thanks

My 2010 SS does the same thing...you are literally hearing the intake valves suckin in the air lol...at idle with just a small blip of the gas pedal you hear my intake a split second before the exhaust...nice doppler effect...peace out

I love that sound, it does the same on every CAI I've ever heard on one of these cars.

There is a noticeable woosh that accompanies aftermarket CAIs. But the sound you are hearing may or may not be abnormal. To be safe I would check all of the connections: filter to MAF housing, MAF housing to inlet elbow if applicable, and inlet elbow to throttle body.

After some exhaustive searching i found this clip...fast forward to the 34 second mark or so to hear the exact noise your car is making.

I have the GM Z/28 CAI. I have never heard that.

Probably sounds the same if the car didnt have an intake on it at all.

How can you feel a noticeable difference with a different intake? Even having one myself, along with a ported TB and rod modded intake manifold, I feel no difference. My tuner couldnt even get gains out them either.

The only difference was the "sucking" noise which sounds exactly the same as when there was no intake on the TB. (I've done this before for some troubleshooting on other engines)

So ... what it should sound like without the oem intake sound chambers.

I think even at WOT the TB blade doesnt open to fully horizontal too... I could be wrong on that, but I've seen engines at half wot and the tb blade is barely open (the woosh noise)

I remember reading on a some vendor's website that an added bonus to adding a CAI was the "cool woosh sound"*. I've owned 3 cars and each one I have added a CAI to, and they all make various woosh-ing sounds. Check for leaks (my BMW's air intake boot has a habit of slipping off the mount) but that sound is pretty normal after shutting the engine down. Enjoy the increased performance.
