As far as I'm aware, the parts were redesigned by GM prior to when my car was built in June 2009. They initially halted production of the V6M6 models after finding problems with the 1-2 shift in the CTF cars that GM employees were driving. I'm not sure what parts exactly were supposed to have been redesigned but have heard it was the 1,2 syncro. As for a TSB, no, there never was one that was put out because they thought they caught the issue before the cars hit the streets - only 1 V6M6 was produced before they halted production. I'm not sure if my car initially had one of the "old" versions or if it was just not redesigned properly the first time.

As for my new transmission, it's much much better. Every shift point is the same now and going into 2nd is no different than going into any other gear.

If you are having problems, have the dealer check it out or else wait a while and see if it gets worse (i.e., lower in the RPM range). You're covered under the powertrain warranty for 5yr/100k miles.

So seeing how mine was made in March of this year, I should have the redesigned parts.

Yup. I'll wait up until if the trannie will no longer engage 2nd gear on an aggressive shift.

5/60,000 FTW!

Ooooh, shiny new parts!!!

Some of you may remember a giveaway that West Coast Camaro sponsored last October. I won and had $500 to spend at http://www.westcoastcamaro.com .

Contest thread

Winner thread

Well, the stars finally aligned and Paul from West Coast Camaro sent out the items I've been wanting to get...

2010 Camaro Switchblade Silver Interior Trim Kit

and

2010 Camro Door Sill Decals-Default 2010 Camro Door Sill Decals Variant

Both packages arrived today and in perfect condition.

Some may ask why I got these parts instead of something like a Hurst shifter or Eibach drop springs....Given the problems I've had with the transmission in my car, I didn't want to chance screwing things up by changing the stock shifter and I kind of like the muscular stock stance of my Camaro.

There is a deeper meaning behind the door sill decals though. Growing up, my Dad owned a '70 Nova and one of the things I remember well are the Body by Fisher door sill plates that car had. Not to mention all of my Tri-Fives that I've owned had them as well. No way could I let my naked 1LT go without this classic element.

As for the door/dash panels...Now I can work on adding ambient lighting to my 1LT. I thought about just pulling the black material off the stock panels but the plastic underneath isn't clear so ambient lighting would have never been an option for me. Now it is....just need to find the right solution to make it happen and then install everything.

West Coast Camaro rocks! When I initially won, I tried to get these items but they weren't available from GM yet. WCC let me hang on to my prize so I could cash in at a later date once the parts were available. That was cool! Thanks and much appreciated.

I'll post up pictures once I get things installed.

Thanks Mike. Now I've just got to get that stuff installed. I was down with the flu most of last week so working on the car was kind of out of the question this weekend.

Thanks Mike. I'm slowly working down my list of planned mods for this car.

It's taken me a while to get this project completed but I finally got my door sill decals and door/dash panels from WestCoastCamaro installed. The hitch in getting the project done was also my desire to have ambient lighting working as well.

I need to get better pictures but thanks to 2SSRS, I was able to get 3 of the remaining light pipes and finished up the project yesterday evening. So, there you have it...a 1LT with full ABL that dims with the rest of the dash/gauge lights. I may do some fine tuning on the areas I sanded for the dash pieces but overall, it looks pretty good in person.
