Good to see a domestic top the list of purchases. Even if the #2 car is the mortal enemy of performance enthusiasts all across America.

Please, even Hyundai said it. Yeah, those Explorers are dropping like flies....and the Explorers being traded in are, on average, more than ten years old with more than 140k miles on them according to Hyundai. Think about that for a second. Those rather old, very high mileage Explorers are being traded in because they are still in running condition and are still on the road. Show me the masses of ten plus year old Chevy Blazers with more than 140k miles on them and the owners who just can't stand to part with them.

This is an unabashed testament to the longevity of Ford vehicles. A fact which should be made obvious by the vehicles most of those customers bought to replace their Explorer....two of the top five are Ford products. Tell me, where did the best placing GM product place on that list again?

If you want to slam Ford then slam them for something which isn't a blatant win.

Seriously why are you here the man said he had 2 and they were junk. obviously he has reason for his opinion. I have never owned one, but can honestly say i have never heard anything good about them. 140k is nothing really to brag about. I have a 78 camaro with more miles on it than that so i guess thats a win for chevy huh?

Just because they are that old doesn't mean they ran without problems. I'm the first to tell you I'm not bashing ford. I've had alot of them, but I've had two explorers both bought new, 98 and 2003, both a had many problem including tranny, tranfer case, head gasket, rear end seals and many more issues. Thats junk in my book. Sorry to hurt your feelings fanboy, just call them like I see them.

Makes sense, for many years the Explorer was the best selling vehicle in the U.S. Glad to see at least 2 Fords and 1 GM on the buy list but I feel taxpayer money should only be given when purchasing an American vehicle......

Here everyone else is trading and removing them from their driveways and garages.. and I'm still stuck with mine by no choice of my own.
