Parked Next to C7 Z06 at Supercars Show, Z/28 had double the interest

At the end of Supercars week in West Palm Beach, the week was capped off by a huge exotic and tuner car show on the waterfront in West palm Beach this past Sunday. I pulled my red Z/28 around a barricade to park closer to the show, only to find myself trapped and unable to get out. I had to park my car next to a new yellow C7 Z06 with black stinger that was on display in the show, effectively locking myself into the show.

The Z/28 garnered so much more interest than the Z06; there were constantly several people around my car. It seemed to attract many more admirers than the multiple new GT3's and GT-R's present. Only the super exotics seemed to have as many lookers.

I had only wanted to stay an hour or two but resigned myself to having to stay until the end of the show in 5 hours. One motorcycle cop was going crazy how much he loved the car. He said it was his favorite car out of the hundreds present and when he found out it was mine, he offered to help me navigate the street to get out. He moved the barricades and stopped the people and guided me to the exit.

I have had this car for just under 2 weeks and 500 miles, but I can honestly say that it is absolutely incredible. People just love it and are really attracted to it. Chevy should be applauded for what they created. And I haven't even had the opportunity to track it yet. The best is yet to come.

Hard to believe, since it's just a Camaro.

I think you will continue to get a lot more attention than Z06s and many other vehicles ... Z/28s are rare and car enthusiasts love their purist nature and are naturally drawn to them.

I wouldn't say rare, just not many people paid 75k for a camaro. Hence them sitting and the 20k discounts they just had. just my opinion

I can't go anywhere without having to talk to people about it. Not that I go far, or often, but when I do, it's never without a conversation.

I have seen the Z/28 next to a ZL1 and I can see why the Z/28 will garn more attention, the car is a beast of a looking car, not knocking the ZL1 as I love it as well it's just the Z/28 is drop dead mean looking...

Let's say only 1000 have been sold, probably less. 1000 in the wild would put 20 In each state. Now take most of the mid west, north east, and Alaska/Hawaii and sprinkle them in florida, california, and Texas, you still have a car that is rare. Plus, there might only be 3500 sold. Still gonna be hard to see one.

Totally agree with you. At my first track event at Road Atlanta the Z28 was the talk of the two days amongst all the participants. There where so many double and triple the price Porsches and Ferraris as well. Then when I did several sessions in their pro group (been driving professionally for two decades) I had several guys after the sessions coming over in a state of shock. I was as impressed as they where!

What a great car this is!

Happy to say Canadian models are definitely rare! Less than 90 made in both years combined of the Z/28s 5th gen production!

Chevy has done an amazing job with their vehicles over the past 5-6 years. Very sharp cars and trucks. I even look at my DD Cruze RS and think it's crazy that just a few short years ago, Chevy was selling those cheap Cavalier crap heaps. It was like riding down the road in cardboard box. You heard every noise on the road. A great turnaround!
