New Buyer Should I wait

Yes I know this has been asked, but I'm in a unique position and need a little advice. Is there anything worth waiting for in the 2011 camaro? I'm a power freak and have been googling like crazy, but hadn't found anything that says its worth waiting. Any information would be helpful as I am stuck with a 97 accord beater car until I purchase my new camero (Just sold my 500whp sti). My secondary question, is it worth going ahead and upgrading to the 21inch rims? I'm sure I won't wait long before adding parts to the car increasing the power but I didn't know if it was worth spending the 4k to go ahead and upgrade this.

Thanks for your advice.

I cannot say that there will be any changes except for maybe colors next year. For me it was always saving enough money to get the model I wanted and still keep the payments low enough where I had a little extra money. If waiting till next year gets you the model you want it really seems to be the best option. As to your second question on the wheels it really is what you like and can afford. On my 69 I have 18" craigers. On my camaro I went with the 20 then got 21 aftermarkets that I liked. Hope this helps ???

Provided you have a boatload more $$$ to part with. The SLP Camaros are roughly +20k. How much cheaper you think a Z28 could possibly be? Bang for the buck is the 2SS. If you had a 500HP STI you know how to do mods correctly...

Once the new Camaro came out I had to have one right away. There were a few things I was not willing to compromise. No V6, no automatic and had to be Black. I waited a few extra weeks and got exactly what I wanted.

So I guess it depends on what you want, what your willing to compromise and how long you can wait.

Well I'm looking at an SS with all the options. Obviously you loose some performance with the 21 inch rims, however I figured as I bolt things on it would be worth it plus I really like the look of the 21s. What I was unsure of if there was performance improvements to the engine next year or other things that would be corrected that would make it worth the wait.

I'd get it now. If you wait for the Z it could really cost you. They are predicting 50,000.00 for it. For the extra 10,000 or 15,000, you can do a lot of upgrading.

I debated about whether or not to wait to see if a Z28 is coming, but I decided that I loved the 2SS I test drove. I've waited a loooooooooooong time to get this car. I have the money. I ordered it.

We've sold the 21" set up MUCH LESS through our parts department than ordering with the car...also, some dealers will keep your original wheels when you order LPO wheels.

With what we are selling cars for now, why not buy one now?

I'm kinda in the same boat, I'd love to get the Z28 when it comes but with the 2SS/RS coming in at $40K (after taxes) is already at the peak of my price range.

Now's the time to make a deal on a car on the lot.
Most of us had to have it this summer and paid sticker.

maveric7911, first off, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

As for your questions........IF YOU want a Convertible, wait, IF YOU want a Z28, wait.......if either of those things are not a "gotta have it" buy now. if you are up to modding your car, there are a LOT of places to point you in the right direction, and you can come out ahead. As far as to which model you should be looking at, once again there are a few things to take into consideration, such as whether or not you want or need leather, or the sound system, or the USB port, HID's, halo's......if those are some of the things you want......GET THE 2SS/RS

No...I'm powerfreak.

Stay away from the 21" wheels unless you REALLY like them. There are cheaper alternatives that look better IMO.

As far as waiting...if you can afford it now...GO FOR IT! Performance will likely be the same, unless you want to wait for the Z28. Heard rumors that they might add HUD, and a 3.73 rear, but who knows.
