Wow GM...that's some BS

Let me start by saying that I have owned my 2010 2LT/RS Camaro for over a year and a half now and loved every second of it. Like every other car on the road, it has its flaws but it is an overall great vehicle. Anyway, I took it in to my local dealer today to have the speakers located in the trunk checked out because I realized that the left one makes an obnoxiously loud rattling sound on songs with considerable bass. After about an hour and a half of waiting, the service guy comes out with a sheet of paper from GM stating that it is normal for the rattling sound to occur because it is such a potent sound system. Seriously? If you know that you are putting such a "potent" sound system in the car, why would you hold it in place with plastic clips instead of screws? This is rediculous for a car in the $30000 price range that includes a supposedly "premium" sound system.

Turn the Bass and volume down and your problem will be solved.

It's not the wait time. It's the fact that they say the rattling is normal when it just started happening recently. Also, I don't hate GM. I just thnk this is BS.

That's the problem. Even with the bass turned to 0, the outer casing that holds the speakers in place makes a rattling sound. I have to turn it to the negatives for it to be completely gone

there are some dealers that would say it is normal if the engine fell out of the car.
take it to another dealer.your speakers should not do that.can't tell you how many posts i have read where people take their cars in for a problem only to have the dealer say" that is normal."

If it's normal we all should be experiencing it. I have turned my Boston Accustics volumn almost as loud as it will go. I also have the bass turned up high and I've never heard the rattling sound. Is there anyway you can modify the speaker and/or what the speaker fits in to?

i hope that is a joke, lol, that is not a valid solution, the car is designed with a premium sound system, just simply not using it is not a solution, by that same logic if you said your transmission pops out of gear in 3rd and 4th you might as well just say well then just go from 2nd to 5th, but something i would not be suprised if someone recommended, lol

I think the explanation is well stupid. I think they could of explained it a little better to you. They could of sat in the car with you and helped with a fix. Dont hate GM, for one persons inability to explain the situation. Blame the dealership and understand that not everyone is that bad.

I dont hear any rattle and my volume is constantly 12 - 16 with everything equalized at 10 - max, deff take to a diff dealer then and should have it fixed. if not you can always try urself and use some double taple like 3M Double sided tape to hold them in place

While i agree with your point. I cannot stress enough how un premium this system is. My non bose STOCK setup in my CTS i traded in crushed this system in sound quality and sheer power.

I agree, the B.A. "premium" audio is absolute garbage. I Replaced all mine with Infinity Kappas and properly installed them and it sounds awesome. I replaced the stock deck too.

OP, I understand your pain even if others don't. The speakers need to be better!
