Service Theft Deterrent System Light

Remote started my car in the driveway, got in it, put the key in, only got to turn the key one click and the car died, and the pretty lights and words in the picture below popped up. Wouldn't even turn over at this point. Got out of the car, walked around a little bit, got back in and it started right up. Back into the street and died again this time without any of the lights. Once again, took a few minutes before it would start again and straight into the garage it went. I will be calling the dealer in the morning, but any ideas until then?

Nope. Now you made me go dig out my manual in the glove box. From page 2-11 of the owner's manual...

THEFT ATTEMPTED

This message displays if the vehicle detects a tamper condition.
Which that was not the message I received and was the only message listed under the anti theft alarm.

For the record the horn did not sound nor did the turn signal lamps flash three times.

I'd hate to say it buy you guys should at least know the information about your car in the owners manual to know that this wasn't an attempted theft.

This looks like something has to be serviced by the dealership. Have you had a chance to get in touch with your local service department to see what you can do?

Key fob problems most likely, try the other key fob you have for the car.
